a religious experience
Firstly, I’m 28, sober, and not a crazy techno or dubstep fan with a ridiculous hat and sunglasses. I mean, I enjoy it but it has never put me into a screaming euphoric state.
That changed when I saw PANTyRAiD. These guys are not just DJs, they are absolute rock stars and ingenious musical creators. Modern Bachs or something. You could tell that the music mattered to them and how they played their hearts out. They were throwing out these jagged saw-tooth synths at a delicious, sexy, tripped pace while never losing the anchor of the beat. Mixed in were tangible melodies and vocal/hiphop samples that didn’t have the usual lackluster flavor. It is incredibly fresh and exciting. It moved you, and moved with you and carried you to a new place. Sober as a courtroom, I was screaming in delight.
